Wow the new punto 2012 is here .....i dont think much of the specks have changed but the ground clearance for the new punto diesel is increased to 185mm from 171mm...i think thats a good move as most of the times i had my underbody scrape on the bumpers but the service mechanic said its not the underbody but the mud flaps..but whatever...this incrase only makes it more ready for our roads. :)

Yes, the sound would reduce after the engine i properly run-in.

I would give it around 10,000 kms.

Hi Sumit,
Need a little info about the engine sound..
When I test drove the Punto Diesel Car, engine sound was very less in that car. But my car engine sound is more than test drove car but manageable.
The Sales guy told that the sound will be less after few hundred kms run and first service. Is that true. Have you got any exp on this.

Hi PD

I am sorry I missed this comment.

Here are the answers to your queries:

Yes, you are right, the 1st and 2nd gears are underpowered on punto.
3rd and 4th gears are the best.

You turn the knob to the blue part for cool air and turn it to the red for hot air.

2nd knob is for controlling the air pressure. 1 being the lowest and 4 being the MAX. Press this knob and you will hear a click sound, that would turn on the air conditioner.

3rd knob is for controlling the air direction. You will see the icons on that knob, which are self explanatory as to where the air is directed.

Hope this helped.

Hi
I own a grande punto 1.3 emotion for the last two years and have done 40000+ kms. Everythng so far so good. Two days back changed all four tyres to Michelin Primacy LC. Gotta discuss two issues here:
1) While driving alone i hear a loud thud sound from behind when negotiating a bump at medium/high speed....Changed both rear shockers while in warranty but the problem still persists. Service people clueless. Any idea folks? Also the stoppers in front wheels are a pain in the a#@
2) As the pre-installed blaupunkt system doesn't give good sound quality may pls suggest what overhauling should i do?
Thanx in advance
